The doctors and staff at The Village Surgery in New Malden are proud to offer the highest standard of patient-centred healthcare.
We run many clinics for the management of chronic diseases such as asthma and diabetes and offer a wide variety of other medical services including antenatal and postnatal care, minor surgery, childhood vaccinations and NHS Health Checks.

Over 70 and not vaccinated?
We have invited all our patients who are over 70 or Clinically Extremely Vulnerable (CEV) for a COVID-19 vaccination. If you are over 70 or in the CEV group and have not heard from us, please contact us and let us have your up to date contact details so that we can arrange an appointment for your vaccination.
General Practice at The Village Surgery during Coronavirus (COVID-19)
Please be aware, our practice is open and providing services in a different way during the COVID-19 pandemic.
If you or your child is unwell please contact us as usual by telephone, email or online booking. Please do not delay seeking advice if needed. Doctor and nursing appointments are available during our normal working hours. Our opening hours are Monday to Friday 08:00-18:30.
Please do not come to the practice unless you have spoken to the practice and they have asked you to attend a booked face-to-face appointment
Our GPs are now conducting assessments over the telephone and if necessary by video link. When you call and speak to one of our receptionists you will be asked a number of questions so that your call can be directed appropriately.
Please contact NHS 111 on the telephone or online as usual outside of normal practice hours.
Think you need to go to A&E? Think NHS 111 First
If you need urgent, but not life-threatening care, call NHS 111 before turning up to an emergency department. If, following a conversation with NHS 111, it is appropriate for you to attend the emergency department you may be scheduled a time to attend.
Thinking NHS 111 First will also help you get to the most appropriate service when you may not have to attend the emergency department. This could include self-care or a slot at your GP practice, a GP hub or a nearby Urgent Treatment Centre.
You can still go to ED and UTC without calling ahead but thinking “NHS 111 First” will mean:
- shorter waiting times via a booked slot at the emergency department or another appropriate service and
- safe social distancing away from busy emergency department waiting rooms to protect you and others from COVID-19
Information on COVID-19
Anyone with a new cough and / or fever should self-isolate at home for 7 days.
Coronavirus is circulating widely within the community. Please follow government guidelines on self-isolation if you or your household contacts are unwell.
111.nhs.uk/ can provide advice on the self management of COVID-19 symptoms.
Please contact the practice to discuss COVID-19 if you become more unwell or your symptoms are persisting beyond 7 days. We can advise further and arrange assessment in the community if necessary.

We will electronically send the prescription to your nominated pharmacy. You can update your nominated pharmacy by telephoning or emailing the practice or via the online patient access app https://app.patientaccess.com/login
To order a repeat prescription, please either:
• Telephone the surgery between the hours of 08:00 at 18:30
• Request online. If not registered please contact the surgery to register for online services
• Email the request to: email@example.com
Remember to use the hand sanitiser provided when entering the building or wash your hands in the patient toilets.
Please remain courteous to our staff at all times, any incidents of verbal or physical abuse will result in removal from the practice list.
This is a very challenging time for us all and we would appreciate your co-operation during this period of uncertainty.
Our priority is the health and safety of all our patients and staff.
You can now sign up for online services if you are aged 16 or over.This will enable you to make appointments online, order repeat prescriptions and view your medical record online, including your medical history, immunisations, test results, medications and allergies.
This service is called Patient Access. To sign up you will need to come into the surgery with one form of photo identification. You must come in person and this cannot be done on someone else's behalf. Click Patient Access to take you to the Patient Access website.

For all urgent appointments, we ask that you undertake a symptom assessment through DoctorLink.
The symptom assessment will ask you a number of questions to help to identify your problem.
The outcome of your assessment will direct you to the right treatment, whether emergency care, your GP, nurse or self-care.
If your outcome indicates that an appointment is required at your GP practice, you simply click on the “request an appointment” button.
Once the request has been submitted, you will then be contacted by the Practice Team, to arrange an appointment within the identified timeframe (as outlined in the outcome of your symptom checker).
The information you provide will be shared with our clinical team (where appropriate) and will assist in providing robust information of your problem to the required clinical team member prior to your appointment.

Keeping the Surgery Informed
If you change your address, contact details or go away for longer than for 8 weeks, please advise us as soon as possible so this does not compromise your healthcare.
We have now started to send text messages for appointments and reviews. Please update your mobile number with us when you next call or come into the surgery. Also please let us know if you do not want to receive text messages.
